Hey guys!

Our summer is coming to a quick close and we all know what that means...Band Camp!! I hope all of you are as excited as I am. As for our incoming freshmen and other new members, I look forward to meeting all of you and putting faces to names. As drum major, I just wanted to send out some helpful tips and information about band camp coming up.  While we will be inside for the warmer part of the day, remember to still come prepared with plenty of water and sunscreen. Hats and sunglasses are always a nice touch too, you don't want to be stuck wearing Steve's hat (Freshmen, you'll learn soon enough). Please remember to eat before coming to band camp every day, I would rather not have to drag unconscious bodies off of the field. On the topic of coming prepared, please bring in all of your forms on Monday, and make sure they are completed. Otherwise I will be constantly asking you about them, and I will annoy you until we have them.

We will be in need of a design for our show shirts. Anyone can submit a design, and we are asking that all designs be submitted by Wednesday August 19th.  Our show theme this season is Duality of Man, but for simplicity sake we are calling it Duality (Plus it sounds cooler). Think of it as being more about opposites rather than about mankind. So dark and light, good and evil, that kind of stuff.

We will be using dot books again this season so make sure you have a small, pocket sized notebook that you can record your sets in. Try to get them right away because we want to get them started early so they aren't as much work as we get new drill. For new members, section leaders and upperclassmen can help you set up your dot book.

There is a marching band facebook group for those of you who have a facebook account. We usually post any last minute updates or little reminders. We will be posting a calendar with band camp spirit days soon. I would suggest participating in spirit days because there may or may not be prizes involved. Just saying.

Other than that I hope you all enjoy your last few days of summer! Feel free to contact me with any questions.

I look forward to seeing all of you soon!
