Hello All:

We are in the midst of several fundraisers… thanks to all who baked and braved the elements for the Super Bowl Bake Sales at Stop & Shop and Bagelicious this past Sunday.  I’m told we cleared roughly $750.00.  Go Ram Band!

Upcoming Fundraisers:

13-Feb-16:  Bottle Drive Drop Off:  Drop Off recyclable bottles and cans between 8:00 – 9:00am outside the CHS Band Room

26-Feb-16:  Pasta & Jazz Event, 6:00 – 9:00pm, CHS Cafeteria

6-Mar-16:  Spring Train Show, 10:00am – 3:00pm, CHS Commons, Cafeteria, East Gym

Our Pasta and Jazz event will be here before we know it – two weeks from this Friday.  Please see the flyer on the home page.  Karen Andes has volunteered again to be the overall event coordinator.  Thanks Karen!

We are asking for volunteers to help bring this event successfully together.  If you can support Karen as a sub-chairman, you can sign up in one of the several sub-chairman areas.  If you are flexible, please contact Karen and see what she needs the most help with.  Or if you would like to man the tables during one or more shifts during the event, please come and work for a short while, and enjoy the entertainment and fellowship while you work.  There is a Sign-Up Genius for PARENT VOLUNTEERS here:  www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0f4baeaa2aa4ff2-22620162.

There is a Sign-Up Genius for ITEMS NEEDED as well.  In order to keep program costs down, we are asking for donations for the balance of supplies needed to support the event.  I have inventoried and set aside many of the items from our residual supplies from the trailer.  We’re in fairly good shape, but still need some items.  Please click here http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0f4baeaa2aa4ff2-2262016 and sign-up to loan or donate these items.

If you have problems with either of these links, or misplace this email, remember you can always go to www.ramband.com, hover over the Band Parents Association tab, and then click Volunteer Sign-Ups to get to our full list of active sign-ups.

One of the features of the Pasta & Jazz event besides the music and the dinner is our Ticketed Giveaway Drawings.  How it works is that first the patron purchases one or many raffle tickets.  There will be a display of donated Themed Baskets, Gift Certificates, etc. where the patron can place one or many of their raffle tickets in a collection bin near the item to “buy a chance” for the item.  And then towards the end of the evening, a drawing is made from the raffle ticket bin for that item.  Good fun!

Yuan Ratliff is the chairperson for the Ticketed Giveaway Drawing.  Thanks Yuan!  We are currently in the process of gathering Gift Certificates, Themed Baskets and what-have-you’s for the Ticketed Giveaways.  If you have a business, or know of someone who does, and would like to donate a basket/item/gift certificate toward the Giveaway, or if you are creative and would like to put something interesting together yourself, please contact Yuan to provide the item information and she will provide further instructions.  There is a sample listing of Giveaway items from the past listed at the end of this message.

Lastly… please spread the word.  We make money from this event by getting people to the gate.  We’re running ads in the Herald and the Citizen.  Parks & Rec Marquis.  But our very best advertisement is by word of mouth.  Please contact your friends, family, business associates and ask them to come for good music, good food and good fun, all to support our CHS Band Programs.  Go to ramband.com, click the flyer on the home page, print it off and spread the word.

If you have any questions, comments, or ideas, please don't hesitate to contact Karen Andes.  Thanks in advance for your help.
