Hello BPA and Happy New Year!

I hope that all of you had a wonderful holiday. I certainly enjoyed the break.

This weekend is the Christmas Tree Pick-Up! Right now we have 358 trees signed up for pick up. The activity will increase up through the end of the week. Please keep up the momentum of referring and getting the word out. It’s working!! Thank you to everyone who signed up to be there on Saturday – I will see you there. Contact Joe Campbell, Mark Nowicki or me if you have any questions.  The sign-up is still available on ramband.com for both students and parents if you want to participate.

CMEA Regional is this weekend. Mr. K has already sent out the schedule and logistics. The concert is Saturday evening in Middletown. Go Rams!!!

Upcoming meetings this month

Tuesday the 12th, we will have the following meetings:

6:45pm in the Old Band Room  - BPA General Membership Meeting – topics to include the calendar for the rest of the school year, meeting and committee schedule, update on finances and preliminary tree-pick up numbers.

8:00pm in the Old Band Room Pasta and Jazz kick off meeting

8:00pm location TBD Winter Guard Parent Meeting

January 21 Music in Motion Planning and Budget Meeting time will be announced

We had a spring Train Show meeting last week. The fall show did well. Thank you again to Maura, Maryam, Audra, Mark and Sue! We reviewed lessons learned, the financials, menu, and started the planning for spring. The sign-up is on ramband.com for March 20, 2016.

Reminder: Below is a link to the BPA forms on ramband.com. I’ve included the participation dues form for the winter guard and percussion programs.  In order to participate in the winter programs, the $100 program participation dues must be received by January 15, 2016. Partial payment of $50.00 is accepted but full payment is expected no later than January 30, 2016.  Link to forms:


The percussion instructors provided me with the following:

Monday 1/4: 5:30-8:30pm

Thursday 1/7: 5:30-8:30pm

Saturday 1/9: 2-9pm (dinner at 5)

For future Saturdays, they are looking to have the rehearsals from 1-8. This is when we can get into the gym to work on drill after the guard rehearsal. Colin has contacted USBands and will be looking at the schedule and nailing down our shows.  I will send out more information soon.

Winter Guard is well underway and organized!! Looking forward to seeing what they are putting together for the season.

Also included on the forms page is the order interest form for the customized USBands National Champion apparel. I’ve received about 14 orders so far but will need more than that to place an order. I will check the forms box Saturday. I do not want to miss anyone who wanted the apparel so I will email this form directly to the students again.

The bowling fundraiser Sunday December 27th raised over $200. Thank you Tina and Robin for the coordination!
