Dear all,

Happy Monday and wow, what a weekend for our Ramband!  It was exciting to see our band in action culminating in their performance at the Fall Festival.

This is the BPA weekly update for September 14, 2015 – it’s a biggie.  Reminder: you can always view the latest news and information at www.ramband.com.

Thank you BPA volunteers!

Thank you parents for all of your support last week – we showed our RamBand Pride!!  It is wonderful to see so many parents involved and I know the band appreciates it. A few special thank-yous to note:

Thank you to the amazing hands who volunteered last Tuesday for the Sewing Circle and subsequent nights to get the uniforms in shape.  Our band looked great on Friday night!

Thank you to the cheering section at Friday’s Halftime show – I know it was a nervous night for our band on the turf for the first time.  It was great to hear the cheers on the video!!  Also, we had a good turnout of parents for chaperoning, moving equipment, getting the band in uniform, and keeping the band in the stands despite the rain of bugs!  GO BPA!

Thank you Tina Allen and Robin DeGennaro for a great Tag Sale!  Thanks to the parents who gave their time in advance, to those who donated baked goods and tag sale items, to the team that was there Friday and Saturday setting up and minding the tables.  We raised over $900 dollars!

Thank you to the parents and students that advertised, put up signs, handed out fliers and for the brave souls that wore the Mattress Costumes.  We had a banner year for the Mattress Sale, selling 24 mattresses!!  This is terrific turnout!!  Dollar value will be in soon.

Important Updates:

Visit the Food Service Orders link this week if you want to order your band member Pizza for Friday and Subway for Lunch and/or Dinner for Saturday’s competitionhttp://www.ramband.com/band-parents-association/food-service-orders.  Emails have been sent by Pam Gomez with the links and information.  Stay tuned for more information on our plan to have a way to pay in advance to avoid the need to bring checks or money each week.

On-line sign-up for chaperones for Friday night and Saturday is up now athttp://www.ramband.com/band-parents-association/parent-volunteer-sign-ups.  If you have already volunteered to chaperone, attended the meeting, and have done the background check, please sign up here if you are able to chaperone this weekend.  We will be posting the sign-up here each week.  Once the chaperone slots have been filled, we will not need additional chaperones, however, you are still able to sign-up for other opportunities to help at the competition with pit-crew, trucks, prop-crew, and quartermaster support.  If you did not volunteer or attend the meeting but want to help out at future games or competitions, please contact Phil Unger so that he can brief you on the role and the background check.

Important Dates:

Thursday September 17th  7:30 p.m.  Music In Motion Planning Meeting, Band Room.  This will be in lieu of the BPA standing meeting.  I will reschedule that shortly.  We have already received many volunteer forms (thank you!) but we need a few additional hands on deck.  Feel free to attend and get more information on how you can help.

We will hold additional MiM meetings up until the event, but committees or teams may meet more frequently as needed.  Here is the schedule thus far:

October 1st at 7pm ALL volunteers

October 13th at 7pm Leads Coordinators only

October 15th 7pm ALL volunteers

5:45 p.m. Dinner break for Marching Band

6:30 p.m. Pep Band members not in Marching Band Report

7:00 p.m. Assemble in stands

8:15 p.m. (approx)   Halftime Performance - Marching Ram Band

9:30 p.m. (approx)   Collect all music stands, flip folders, personal items, & trash, then form parade block & march back to Band Room

9:45 p.m. Put All Instruments and equipment away/dismissed

Saturday September 19th, 2015 Band's First Competition at Maloney Falcon Field
