Hello BPA and welcome to this week’s update!

It was great to see many of you at the concert last Thursday and to hear our bands perform!  I never get tired of it, even though I’m mom to a drummer! 

This past weekend was NEMFA – a long day for our band director and the students who auditioned and who helped out as volunteers.  We had great student support!  It was a good day.  Thank you especially to Karen Andes and her daughter, who agreed to coordinate the event for us… again.  In addition, thank you to Phillip and Yuan Ratliff, Michael and Nora DeFrancesco, Jim Bennett, Elizabeth Crawford, Jody Daniels, Mark and Jessica Nowicki, and Audra Fleury for taking time on Saturday to support the event.  I think we sold anything that was not nailed down that was edible to the visiting students!  

Below is a link to the BPA forms on ramband.com.  I’ve included the participation dues form for the winter guard and percussion programs.  In order to participate in the winter programs, the $100 program participation dues must be received by January 15, 2016.  Partial payment of $50.00 is accepted but full payment is expected no later than January 30, 2016.  I’m working with the instructors to get advance information on the schedules so that I can include them in my weekly emails go forward.  Stay tuned.  I know that they may already communicate directly with students or parents, but I want to be sure we are including it.  Link to forms:


Also included on the forms page is an order interest form for the customized USBands National Champion apparel.  I will also email this form directly to the students.  The mock-up of the front and back is provided.  In order to get a final price per item, I need to give an estimated count per item.  The prices range from $15-$40 depending on the item and the quantity.  No money must be sent in with this form, only the quantity you are interested to purchase.  Based on interest, USBands will provide the prices.  I will then communicate your total to you before we place an order to ensure that you still wish to purchase.

Over the holiday break, the Marching Ram Band is holding a bowling fundraiser at Apple Valley Bowl, Sunday December 27th from 1-3pm.  For $20.00, you are able to bowl unlimited games for two hours, rent shoes, and have two slices of pizza, small drink and a dessert.  For more information and where to get your tickets, please go to the following link or to the fundraising page on ramband.com.


Our elves have been busy putting out the Christmas Tree Pick-Up forms at several locations in Cheshire.  In addition, an email to all of the past fundraiser participants was sent out last weekend to remind them its again time for our tree pick-up.  The printable order form is available on the home page of ramband.com.  Online ordering is ready and the 800 number is functioning.  Ads will be in the Cheshire Herald and Cheshire Citizen starting December 24th.  LET’S GET THOSE TREES!!!!!!  I am sending an email reminder to the students to put flyers in mailboxes and push the tree pick-up.

Our next BPA Board Meeting will be on December 16th.  We will be discussing the wrap up of this portion of the year and planning for the activities coming up in the spring.  It comes quickly.  In addition, we will review the financial status to date.  Minutes and financial report will be posted shortly thereafter for you to review at your convenience.

Our next BPA Membership Meeting will be January 5th, 2016, which will include a kick off meeting for the Pasta and Jazz fundraiser that is scheduled for February 26th, 2016.  I will share the BPA calendar for 2016 that I prepared and will continue to add to as we move forward. 

Several of the band members mentioned wanting to purchase Nationals patches for band jackets at Pepwear.  I was asked again this weekend to re-send this out.  The patches are $7.00 and the other items range from $15-30.  The link below will take you to the page where you can order the merchandise.   I will also add this to my student email.


Thank you once again for all of your time and efforts this year.  I sincerely appreciate your ideas, participation, patience, and support as we continue to grow our BPA organization.  I am looking forward to a great second half of the school year and to having some Band Parent fun!  If I do not see you, happiest of holidays and a healthy new year!
