Last night, at the Special Meeting of the CHSBPA Membership, the members in attendance went through a presentation led by Tim Orcutt, member of the bylaw committee, on the Amended and Restated Bylaws. The bylaws were adopted by the Board and pending a vote by the Membership.
The members had the opportunity to voice questions before the in-person vote was administered. Mark Nowicki, BPA Secretary, administered the in-person voting and he, Tina Amodei, and Dave DeLancy tabulated the in-person ballots, the online ballots, and the ballots mailed in prior to 7pm May 3. Of our 91 members, 34 members cast their votes. I read the results to the members present: the membership voted to adopt the proposed bylaws 33 votes for and 1 against. Mr. Kuhner then gave us an update on the status and next steps with BOE with respect to new uniforms for the marching band. We viewed a few of the options that are under consideration should we received the funds.
The new bylaws and minutes of the full meeting will be posted on ramband.com today. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
On behalf of the current Board of Directors, I wish to thank the bylaw committee for their efforts to complete the process, Mark Nowicki for taking great care to ensure that the membership was afforded every opportunity to participate and vote, and all the members who cast their votes in an important milestone for our organization.
I look forward to commencing our operations under the new set of bylaws. Next up will be the fiscal year end meeting and election of the new Board of Directors. Stay tuned for more information and final date for that meeting!
