Welcome to the BPA weekly update! Congratulations to our Marching Ram Band and Color Guard for another great performance this weekend in New Milford. It was great to see all of the red in the stands and a few parent supporters making noise in at the school lot when we returned! Thank you for showing RamSpirit and RamPride!
Reminder: you can always view the latest schedule, scores, news and information at www.ramband.com. We encourage you to visit the site for the most up to date RamBand news. Our webmaster, Mark Nowicki, is keeping us well-informed!
Note from the tech support team at Charms (if you know anyone who is not receiving my weekly emails – this could be why). I will announce at the BPA meeting as well:
WE HAVE RECENTLY LEARNED THAT EMAILS TO ALL SBCGLOBAL.NET ADDRESSES ARE BEING RETURNED. APPARENTLY SOMEONE COMPLAINED TO SBCGLOBAL THAT AN EMAIL SENT THROUGH CHARMS WAS SPAM, AND NOW ALL EMAILS TO THOSE ADDRESSES ARE BLOCKED. WE ARE TRYING TO REACH SOMEONE AT SBCGLOBAL (PART OF AT&T) BUT FOR NOW, PLEASE URGE YOUR PARENTS TO CALL SBCGLOBAL TECH SUPPORT AND DEMAND THAT THEY ALLOW EMAILS FROM YOU AND CHARMSEMAILSENDER@CHARMSMUSIC.COM TO NOT BE BLOCKED. THANK YOU.
Wednesday, Sept 30th CHS Band Program Performance Cheshire Ed Foundation 7:00 pm.
Thursday, October 1st BPA Member Meeting and MiM Planning Meeting 7:00 pm.
Friday, October 2nd Pep Band & CHSMRB Performances at Home Football Game 6:30 pm.
Saturday, October 3rd CHSMRB US Bands Show at Sheehan HS, Wallingford, CT Evening.
Thank you to our faithful volunteers. We appreciate all that you are doing! And we need more of you!
Cheshire Education Foundation 20th Anniversary Concert Wednesday needs a few more parent volunteers. Please come to CHS by 6:15pm if you are able to help out.
Friday home Game versus Amity: It’s our last one until November – but stay tuned for an update if it rains! If we are on, please help if you can with moving equipment and props onto the field. We added the boards for the color guard and with the amount of equipment for the pit, we could use a few more hands to get the band set up to perform.
Saturday at Sheehan: Stay tuned for update in case of weather, as the show may be moved indoors. We are still in need of a few more chaperones and assistance with moving equipment (whether the show is indoors or outside) and props (if we are outside). Please sign-up if you are able to assist. Even if you are just going to the show to watch, we could use some additional help setting up if you are able to come down from the stands to help out.
The Elementary School Tour is Friday the 9th of October. The rain date is the 14th. A sign up for chaperones and equipment support is up on the site.
Please sign-up for school tour, events, games or competitions at: http://www.ramband.com/band-parents-association/parent-volunteer-sign-ups.
The schedule is up for all of the remaining games and competitions (with the exception of Nationals) and we have an interest survey for the band banquet and pancake breakfast. It’s easy to use and helps us to know who we have coming and where we have gaps. If you need assistance with using the on-line sign-up, please contact Mark Nowicki or me for help.
Music In Motion: The on-line sign up for volunteers and equipment is up.
I know that many of you let us know you could help on the volunteer forms, but it would help us IMMENSELY to coordinate coverage and gaps if you could sign up on-line. It’s easy! http://www.ramband.com/band-parents-association/parent-volunteer-sign-ups
Payment of dues: If you would like to join the BPA and haven’t yet and/or if you made a partial payment of dues, payment due Wednesday September 30 (or by Thursday in the form box).
The Lyman Orchard Pie Sale is underway – the forms were placed in the band member mailboxes last Thursday. Band members may earn $2 credit for every pie sold.
We made $2,600 on the mattress sale! Great job to all! $600 of total dollars is for band member incentives for selling the mattresses. Our Macy’s fundraiser topped out at $402 and the Tag Sale at $918.
We are starting to receive ads and sponsorships. Go team! Keep them coming. We have raised $1,425 so far and they keep coming in. Band members can earn $25 credit for every $100 in ads sold. Please see the ad/sponsorship sheet and form that I sent out this past Saturday if you and your band member are able to participate. Let me know if you have questions.
Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteers still needed for Senior Recognition at MiM, Pancake Breakfast, Band Banquet, the Train Show and Christmas Tree Pick Up. Please email me if you are interested in leading or volunteering for one of these events.
Come to the BPA Meeting for:
A full update on remaining events and volunteer opportunities as well as an update on Charms at the BPA meeting this Thursday.
More information on the band trip to Allentown, PA to compete in USBANDS Open.
I look forward to seeing you Thursday.
