Dear Students and Parents,

On behalf of the BPA Board of Directors, I want to wish all of you a very happy and healthy holiday and joyous new year!  Thank you again for all of your hard work both on and off the field this year.

I want to share some info about our annual Christmas Tree Pick-Up fundraiser taking place on January 9th.  We collected about 600 trees last year and with a push, we could easily exceed that amount this year.  For a donation of $15 per tree, the money can roll in pretty quickly.  There are 11,000 businesses and residences in Cheshire which translates into a lot of trees to collect!  They’re out there – let’s get them.

We think we can at least triple our number from last year to make this our largest most successful fundraiser.  We are doing both Winter Guard and Winter Percussion this season so those funds could really help us pay for those programs, and more.

We have signs, flyers, and ads in the Cheshire Herald and Cheshire Citizen but our very best way of advertising is YOU.

Over the next few days while on break, let's take the opportunity to spread the word - put flyers in mailboxes, ask your neighbors, line up referrals. This year we will have three prizes for the students who get the most referrals: VISA gift cards for 1st place $75.00, 2nd place $50.00 and 3rd place $25.00. You will need a minimum of 5 referrals to come in to qualify for the contest prizes. The top three students at or above the 5 referrals will win the gift cards. Be sure your name is written on the bottom of the hand-out forms or the on-line Google form so that you will get credit when the order comes in.

I've attached a quad-flyer. Print as many as you need, cut them in four and then hand them out in your neighborhood. You can leave them in mailboxes or in doors, but you will be more effective by personally talking with your neighbors, family, friends to explain the process and what the donation is for. Let's go get those trees!!!!

Lastly, we still need a volunteer workforce on Saturday the 9th to help us pick up the trees - parent and student teams in rented or personal trucks.  Sign-ups are www.ramband.com.

Very best to you all for the holidays,

Laura
