Thank you all for a TERRIFIC and well-executed Music in Motion® weekend!!!! It was a long weekend for all and the team did a great job working together for a successful event. Even better, It was yet another stellar weekend for our Marching Band with a score of 93.225! Though we did not compete, we performed very well and continued to show how it’s done in Class V. The video is posted on ramband.com. Very proud of the hard work and dedication of our band members and band parents. RamSpirit and RamPride!
I have a few important things to share this week, including schedule, so please be sure to read this through as to not miss anything. Mr. Kuhner sent out a schedule for the weekend last night, but I wanted to highlight a few things:
Friday 10/23: The band will rehearse until 6pm. The E-Board is planning to host a Halloween Movie Night in the Band Room after rehearsal.
Saturday 10/24: Our performance time in Southington is 9:00pm. Please come out and support the band wearing your colors. We need the Big Red Machine in that sea of blue!!
Report time is 10:30am for rehearsal. Lunch time is 12:15 and rehearsal ends by 5:00pm. The band will eat dinner in the band room at 5pm before getting on the buses. Given our step-off time, we will not likely have time to eat at Southington.

Music In Motion Update
We want to thank the Marching Ram Band Community for a successful show this past weekend. Congratulations on the teamwork and time committed! It paid off. The dust has not yet settled on every detail and we will be ready to report out more on the financials at our next BPA meeting on the 29th of October. We did hear a lot of positive feedback and some new ideas for next year. The chairs for all areas thank all of the volunteers and efforts – we are truly grateful!
Before MIM becomes a distant memory as we move forward to our next event, we ask you to take this quick survey to gather your feedback. Please let us know how great it was :) but more importantly share with us opportunities for improvement. This will be valuable for the planning and process next year. If you would like to purchase a copy of the program from Music In Motion, I will have them at the next BPA Membership meeting for $3.00 each.
The BPA Board Meeting is Tuesday October 20th. The next General Membership Meeting is scheduled for Thursday October 29th at 7pm.
We would like to hold our Trunk of Treat for the band on Thursday October 29th after practice due to the change in schedule for Homecoming to October 30th. Please come out, dressed up and decorated, with your truck filled with treats for a short trick or treating event. We park in the lower lot near the practice field.
A final decision will be made on the Allentown trip this week. We will discuss this at the Board meeting Tuesday night.

We are formulating a plan for ticket sales for both State Championships in New Britain on the 30th and for Nationals at MetLife November 7th. We will have a spectator bus available to MetLife. More details will be coming soon after Board Meeting.
We are in the home stretch, but still have miles to go!
· Train show is coming up Sunday November 22 from 10am-3pm. Volunteer sign up to be posted soon.
· We have the Pancake Breakfast interest survey posted. Please let us know if you plan to attend on Thanksgiving Day before the band performs in the home game. We need to get a good idea of headcount, including band members that will attend in order to plan and shop.
· Peggy Bartram is leading the efforts for our Band Banquet in December. Please let her know if you are interested in helping her with this task. We do already have a list of volunteers – thank you.
· The Christmas Tree Pick-up is in January but planning starts now. We need volunteers to help with advertising, mailing, and other pre-event planning. We will need volunteers to pick up trees on that date. Sign-up will be posted soon.
